PLUG IN is for everyone from around 12 to 25 years old.

Don’t worry! We are very happy to have you and share our afternoon of music! We think the music will be our universal language, but also we are there to help you if you don’t understand or have a question. You can always ask Julian (who is presenting PLUG IN) or Sanne (who will be the stage manager) to help you and they will be very happy to do so!

It costs absolutely nothing. Joining PLUG IN is, like the rest of the Guitar Festival, completely free of charge. So whether you want to come and watch, perform or participate in the masterclasses: it’s all for free!

PLUG IN starts on Sunday October 30th, like the rest of the festival, at 13h (1pm). It lasts until around 17h (5pm).

The PLUG IN stage is in the ‘Kleine Zaal’ (that is the smaller stage) of the Kennemer Theater. The address of the theater is:

Let’s say you’d really like to perform with a song on PLUG IN, but you don’t quite dare yet. Then you can sign up for a free guitar lesson with a professional guitar teacher from one of our music schools. Just send us an email and explain your situation and question, at info@gitaarfestivalijmond.nl

You can also apply for a lesson when you want to play together with someone else for the first time. When you for example have some lyrics and you know someone that plays guitar, you can come to us to let one of our teachers help you with your collaboration.

Absolutely! You are invited from start to end. We too love all of our masterclass teachers equally and couldn’t choose if we had to. So feel free to sit in with every masterclass!

No problem! The PLUG IN stage is open all day, people will walk in and out and we encourage you to do so too. So don’t worry if you haven’t signed up. You can still enter, perform and join the masterclasses!

Yes, we’d love that! In between the masterclasses we have some breaks to create an open stage. You are very welcome to come perform then and there - as long as you also bring a guitar!

PLUG IN is a part of Guitar Festival IJmond and with the Guitar Festival we celebrate all guitarists. So this festival really is all about putting a spotlight on guitars and guitarists. Therefor we invite the (bass)guitarists of bands and perhaps a singer to join them in performing. Of course the rest of the band is very welcome to come and listen and also to join the masterclasses!

This will be the 8th edition of Guitar Festival IJmond. Like we did in the past seven years, we will celebrate all kinds of guitars and guitarists on multiple stages. We will have a stage at the ‘Grote Kerk’ (the Church), and multiple stages at the Kennemer Theater. The Theater and the Church are next to each other on the square. In the theater, there will be three stages (one in the entrance hall, one in the ‘Grote Zaal’ and one for PLUG IN in the ‘Kleine Zaal’).
You are free to visit any stage at any time and to come enjoy all kinds of guitarists play all kinds of music and styles. There will be jazz, acoustic, electric, and much more. There will be solo’s, duo’s, trio’s and even a small guitar orchestra. There is a whole lot to explore on Sunday the 30th! We hope to see you there!
